LOGO Branding

Apart from the several things that I have figured out taking control of my brand is logo presence. Quite simple and generic but at the same time really important. Quite often in the communication we follow we do two things, 1) Either we highlight ourselves (logo) too much 2) Or, we just don't let the attention be grabbed at our logo since it appears in one corner of the communication.
A logo is an important communicating symbol. It tells what a brand is about? How should it be perceived! Also since the game is on a recall, one important aspect is to gain recall via a logo.

I admire the attempt but must nevertheless proceed to point out a few things.

1. Why would anyone want to read what you have published, unless you are an authority of some repute on the subject. There are so many books available off the shelves that contain the same matter. One would rather listen to Jack Welch or read Mark McCormack. I mean say something new.

2. Stop teaching. What you've written is book stuff - straight out of the pages of some nondescript book on management and brand evaluation. Put something distinctive - your own personal style. Pep up the writing.

3. Do put some good pics. Say something on the lines of The Economic Times. (So ok you know I am writing from India)

I really wish you all the best.

Hey Friend,
Thanks for your time and feedback. They are really valued and I extend a heart felt gratitude for your suggestions. But then there is something I want to mention at this point:
1) All the writings in my blog are based on my day to day experiences with handling various aspects in marketing and branding. One could read Welch etc but then this is say the on the job exp. in a direct way.
2) I dont agree that my write ups/ articles are book stuff, as I am not trying to preach. Its just a faciliation. The end obj. is sharing knowledge.
3) I think the long term implications by using pics will not be good dueto copy right issues. Its some how got blended with me that I dont use it though I can look at it. Its a great suggestion indeed.

Best Wishes,
Regards,

Hmmm !
Now I understand why you thought this "friend" was ME.
If you recall.....the first comment made by this person is somewhat similar to what I shared with you, the last time.
But its good to know that you're getting more and more feedback...
It'll help you grow...
I suggest that you go through all the feedback that you've got so far, across all your work, especially the critique, before you come up with anything new.
Try and incorporate the suggestions in your writing, maybe what comes out is better.
Atleast I'll tell you if its not...

I found wat u wrote about logo s to be intersting but very much on the surface. A logo mirrors the vision of the company and is supposed to communicate to the potential or existing consumer and customer, wat the org stands for, as u rightly said. In the light of the above, how do u explain, successful companies playing around with nuances of their logo, a case in point being: Hutch goes PINK or an Asian Paints with a decade old successful Gattu just moving ahead to a newer dimension.

A logo is Sacrosanct. I would like you to know your opinion on these.
